2010 Wisconsin Bicycle Summit
The Bike Fed's 2nd Annual Wisconsin Bicycle Summit on April 21 and Lobby Day on April 22 brings together hundreds of bike enthusiasts from every corner of the state to stand in support of making every ride we take in Wisconsin safe, enjoyable, and fun!
WISCONSIN BIKE SUMMIT APRIL 21
This year's Summit offers you informative workshops, opportunities to learn from inspiring speakers, and a chance to connect with community and industry leaders.
Our special guest, Andreas Rohl, head of the City of Copenhagen's Bicycle Program, will give a dynamic presentation on how we can learn from Copenhagen's dramatic success in expanding their bike infrastructure to become the world's best bike city. An amazing 40% of Copenhagen commute trips are by bike.
Following Andreas, a panel of Wisconsin leaders, who will have just returned from touring the world's great bicycling cities in the Netherlands and Germany, will share their story of how we can create more bicycle-friendly communities in Wisconsin.
New this year, you can choose from multiple breakout sessions that will offer you useful tools and information for a variety of subjects including encouraging our kids to walk and bike through Safe Routes to School programs, building Bicycle Friendly Communities, expanding Wisconsin's off-road bicycle recreational opportunities, and much more!
LOBBY DAY APRIL 22
Together during Lobby Day on April 22, we'll ensure that every Wisconsin legislator understands the importance of our state's $1.5 billion bicycle economic impact.
Last year we proved that by joining together, WE CAN MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN! Thanks to you and 450 friends of bicycling who attended last year's summit, we achieved the following victories:
- Statewide Complete Streets legislation to increase bike lanes and paths
- $5 million increase in bicycle funding
- Passage of Anti-Dooring legislation to protect bicyclists' rights
Please join the Bike Fed and over 500 bicycle enthusiasts for this exciting and important opportunity to build, expand, and transform the bicycling experience in Wisconsin.
