12th Annual Urban Initiatives Conference
UWM Center for Urban Initiatives & Research + The School of Public Health 10:00 am breakout session: “How the Built Infrastructure of Communities Affects Public Health.”
Featuring Center for Resilient Cities’ Vice President, Nancy Frank, and Milwaukee Program Director, Marcia Caton Campbell.
About the Conference:
Public health touches the lives of everyone--even more so than healthcare. This year's conference will provide an opportunity for community members to learn and dialogue about important challenges in public health in greater Milwaukee. Join us in discussing pandemics like H1N1, health living environments, violence, social justice, nutrition and birth disparities, among other topics. Keynote speakers include internationally known Joan Reede (Harvard University), an expert in diversity and community partnership, and Michael Rothschild (UW-Madison), an expert in social marketing and health communication.
The 2010 Urban Initiatives Conference will be held in partnership with the UWM School of Public Health.
