Walk for Water & Hike for Your Health

Sunday, April 18, 2010 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Walk for Water & Hike for Your Health

The average distance women and children walk every day to secure water is almost 4 miles. We will be hiking a little less than half that.

These walks are taking place in 192 countries on April 18, 2010. Water education activities will help increase awareness of the expanding water crisis facing our world.

For this special event, we ask you to walk and connect with the water and natural landscape in the heart of Milwaukee. You will learn about the challenges for our city, state, country and world related to water.

Register and pick up your trail guide at Gordon Park Pavilion between 1 and 3 pm on Sunday April 18. Helpers with information about the land and water will be posted at clearly marked points along the trails.

You may start your hike anytime between 1 and 3 pm.

Enter to win drawings in the Gordon Park Pavilion for “green gifts” from local establishments!

Strollers and Wheelchairs? Register and start on Riverboat Road off of Commerce Street (the old Wheelhouse site, 2176 N. Riverboat Rd.) Parking also available there.
