On April 27th and 28th over 450 bicycle leaders joined the Bike Fed in Madison for the 2009 Wisconsin Bike Summit. We asked our legislators to pass three important pieces of legislation:

- A fair share of funding for Wisconsin bicycling

- Complete Streets Legislation

- The "Dooring" Legislation

On June 8th Governor Doyle signed the "Dooring" legislation in to law. On June 29th, our lobbying efforts from April became fully realized when the Governor signed the Wisconsin state budget. The budget contained an additional $5 MM for bicycle infrastructure and Complete Streets legislation.
