Put Milwaukee in first place!
Last week Milwaukee Riverkeeper was selected as a finalist in the River Network/MillerCoors Watershed Protection Grant Contest. If we get enough votes from the public, we will get one of four grants of $10,000!
Thank you to everyone who voted last week. We just received notice from River Network that we are currently in fourth place. What does this mean? We need to keep voting to stay in fourth or move up the ladder! We don't know which group is in fifth place, but you can be sure they are trying to out-vote us as we speak!
If you haven't voted for Milwaukee Riverkeeper yet, you can do so today at this page: https://www.rivernetwork.org/forms/vote-millercoors-grants
If you already voted and still want to help, consider forwarding this message to your friends, coworkers, family, pet-sitters and inlaws. The more votes the better to keep us in the running for this grant!
If we win one of the four grants, the funding will go towards training and equipping our volunteer water monitors so that we can have more trained volunteers in the field collecting crucial data about the rivers. Voting is open until March 6, 2009.
