The Alliance joins with other environmental organizations in releasing a fact sheet that aims to unravel the science and clear up misconceptions regarding the live Asian carp found recently in Chicago's Lake Calumet.

The fact sheet follows an Aug. 5 report, prepared by Southern Illinois University and commissioned by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, that sought to determine the life history of the bighead carp captured June 22 just six miles from Lake Michigan.

The fact sheet was prepared by a coalition of organizations comprising the Alliance for the Great Lakes, Great Lakes United, Healing Our Waters Coalition, National Wildlife Federation, Natural Resources Defense Council and Prairie Rivers Network.
