1st Faith Community in Wisconsin to Receive National Water Stewardship Recognition

The Islamic Environmental Group of Wisconsin [Wisconsin Green Muslims] was recognized on Monday, June 22, 2015 as the first faith community/group in Wisconsin to earn the national GreenFaith - an interfaith environmental organization - Water Shield certificate. The recognition took place at a Green Ramadan Water-Themed Iftar (fast breaking evening meal), which was part of the Islamic Environmental Group of Wisconsin's summer water school project with Milwaukee Water Commons.

This national certification signifies that the Islamic Environmental Group of Wisconsin has taken educational, spiritual and practical steps to conserve water, protect water quality, and mobilize its members and community to do the same at home.
