Autumn Garden Cultivation

Friday, October 1, 2010 - 8:30am - Saturday, October 2, 2010 - 4:30pm

Assist community gardeners with “putting the garden to bed,” prior to the close of the growing season! Alice’s Garden, a two-acre urban community garden located in Milwaukee’s central city, calls for volunteers to undertake tasks that may include planting, building composting stations, weeding the garden grounds, and spreading winter mulch. The garden -- renovated during 2010 – has matured into an active urban “farm patch” where cultivating food and engagement in healthy, life-sustaining activities occur.

This is a family-friendly opportunity whereby participants can volunteer for any length of time. Volunteers must have transportation to travel to the Garden, and will receive instructions and gardening tools upon arrival.

The following time slots are available:

Friday, October 1, 8:30am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-4:30pm
Saturday, October 2, 8:30am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-4:30pm

Please confirm your attendance by emailing Lianna Bishop at [email protected] or by calling (414) 289-7799.
