Wisconsin’s Electronic Waste Bill Sent to Governor

After years of hard work by legislators, ELPC and other advocates, Wisconsin’s legislature has approved an electronic products recycling bill. The bill was sent to the Governor for his signature on October 20. Once it is signed, Wisconsin will join Illinois and 18 other states that have enacted e-waste legislation.

A Park Transformed - More Than Mere Facelift

Milwaukee County boasts an abundance of parks – more than 140.

One of them, Johnsons Park on 19th and Fond du Lac, has had the “unenviable” distinction of being rated the worst, at least according to a study a few years back by the Public Policy Forum.

But WUWM Environmental Reporter Susan Bence recently visited the park and found a transformation underway.

Emergency Action Needed to Prevent Asian Carp Invasion

2009 Saris Gala Raises $100,000 even in tough economic times

The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin and Saris Cycling Group raised $100,000 at this year's sixth annual Saris Gala last Friday evening. Funds raised will support a variety of vital Bike Fed programs, including a safety education initiative that will distribute safety information to every county in Wisconsin in 2010.
