State's Largest Solar Project to be Installed by Milwaukee River

Milwaukee Area Technical College and Johnson Controls Inc. will build the state's largest solar power project, a $6.9 million "solar education farm" that will help train technicians in the renewable energy field.

High-Speed Rail Funding Generates Overwhelming Response

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) announced today that it has received 45 grant applications from 24 states for high-speed rail corridor programs. The requests far exceeded the $8 billion dedicated to high-speed rail development by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Due to the overwhelming response, FRA will delay the announcement of grant awards until this winter.

The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin Nominating Committee is seeking qualified candidates to run for election to fill 5 open seats on the Bike Fed Board of Directors. If you submit the information required below, we will place your name on the ballot to be sent to our 3,100 members. Positions are 3 years each, running from January 2010- December 2013.

Wisconsin Passes Electronic Products Recycling Bill

On Tuesday, the Wisconsin Assembly passed the Electronic Products Recycling Bill (Senate Bill 107) that requires manufacturers to take responsibility for the growing problem of electronic waste.

ELPC helped create Illinois’ e-waste recycling bill and advised on policy and built support for Wisconsin’s legislation.
