Kinnickinnic dredging kicks-off

In 2007, Milwaukee Riverkeeper (then Friends of Milwaukee’s Rivers) successfully nominated the Kinnickinnic River for one of the nation’s Most Endangered Rivers. Our objective was to shed some light and advocate for funding for this river that had been neglected—laced with toxic contamination, lined with concrete, degraded, and ignored over the years.

Senate Bill Offers Aid for Ailing Beaches

The U.S. Senate is considering a bill that would increase funding for beaches to $60 million a year to ensure your health when you visit the beach.

The Senate bill would pay for state and local beach health monitoring, public notification and -- most importantly -- removal of pollution that can make you and your family sick.

MCTS to Launch Bikes on Buses Thursday, June 4th

Milwaukee, WI – On Thursday, June 4 at noon members of the media and transit supporters are invited to join the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS), Milwaukee County Supervisors Michael Mayo, Patricia Jursik, Marina Dimitrijevic, and Christopher Larson, and the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin for the launch of Bikes on Buses.
